We deliver basic and entrepreneurial trainings, we supply start-up capital and provide those new entrepreneurs with coaching during the first two years in their business.

We have delivered or are delivering these training programs in close cooperation with local partners in:

The origin of the YEP Tanzania program is in the small town of Sengerema, Mwanza region, see also ‘Mission and Background’. We have trained youth there over several years. After some years, we handed the trainings and coaching of the entrepreneurs over to the so called Community Based Organisation (CBO) named Young Entrepreneurs Sengerema. We are still connected to the chairman of that CBO, who is also a former student of the YEP program in Sengerema.

in Meatu we have trained few entrepreneurs. One of the success stories from there is the following:
‘In 2013 Obadia Pesanane was amongst the students who followed the YEP training in Meatu. At the end of the program he received a loan through YEP of 1,800,000 Tsh to expand his photo services businesses. He started to produce different photos in his studio. His sales increased by this and he was able to start a new business; becoming an agent for Mpesa (money transaction service through phone). Because of the success of this, he even managed to expand more. He became and agent for banks. Currently he is an agent for NMB,CRDB,NMBC, EQUITY BANK,TPB,AND AZANIA BANK. Now he has two employees on photo service and finance services. In the future he expects to have a big studio of photo service also selling photos accessories.

In Iringa we worked together with Action Ministry and the Municipal Counsel. Because of the distance from our other main projects it’s difficult to do a very hands on monitoring. However, the past 2 years, one of our YEP staff was dedicated for the Iringa project and visited the entrepreneurs to see how they are doing and what their challenges are and if YEP can assist in any way. The result of the last visits can be found in the below report.
